Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Remuneration Manager for its Linbro Park operation in Gauteng. The role oversees payroll for 1000+ employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process optimization.

Your 10+ years in payroll, including leadership and Payspace system expertise, will drive policy implementation, budgeting, reporting, and system integrations across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10 years payroll management experience, including 3 years in a managerial role.
• 3 years in payroll system/implementation/interface role.
• Extensive experience with monthly/weekly payrolls for 1000+ employees.

Responsibilities

• Maximise payroll processing effectiveness, with automation where possible.
• Audit payroll systems, rules, calculations and legislation application.
• Conduct payroll reviews and ensure input accuracy and timely payments.
• Implement remuneration policy and best practices.
• Lead and develop the remuneration department and team.
• Prepare month-end, year-end and tax-year payroll reporting and reconciliations.
• Develop and document payroll policies, procedures and workflows.
• Manage departmental budget and monitor against actuals.
• Oversee Time & Attendance systems and interfaces to/from other systems.
• Ensure legal compliance across all payroll functions.

We are looking for a very experienced Remuneration Manager

Location : Linbro Park

Key requirement

• Payspace experience-Must have Payspace payroll system experience
• Tertiary qualification and/or relevant payroll related qualification
• Budget experience: compilation and controlling of budgets essential
• Tax submissions
• Very strong sound reconciliation experience
• Computer skills (both MS Word and Excel at advanced level)
• Payroll management (including management of capturing, reconciling, control processes)
• Knowledge of legislation applicable to payroll
• Report writing skills on payspace
• 10 years relevant payroll management experience of which 3 years must be in a managerial payroll role and 3 years in payroll system/implementation/interface role
• Extensive experience in financial monthly and weekly payrolls in excess of 1000 employees with multiple conditions of employment
• Solid financial and accounting acumen
• In-depth knowledge of the relevant labor laws, i.e LRA, BCEA, COIDA, OSHA, POPI, Income Tax Act, Wage Determination Act, as well as Bargaining Council Agreements and payroll best practices

Key responsibility

• Maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing, procedures and controls including the streamlining and automation of processes
• Regularly monitor and assess/audit integrity of payroll systems, rules, calculations and application of legislation
• Conduct payroll reviews and ensure accuracy of input and payments
• Implementation of remuneration policy, philosophy and practices
• Leading and managing the remuneration department and team
• End-of-months, end-of-year and end-of-tax year payroll reporting including financial reporting, provisions and reconciliations
• Develop, implement, mentor and train by continuously improving and writing payroll policies, procedures and administrative processes as well as internal workflows, processes and procedures
• Compiling and managing a departmental budget and monitoring against actuals
• Management of the payroll and Time & Attendance systems and interfaces to and from systems
• Ensure legal compliance on all aspects of the payroll functions
