Job summary

Dante Personnel is seeking a payroll specialist in South Africa who has deep Payspace payroll system experience and Unique Time and Attendance expertise to lead payroll processing and ensure accuracy across complex cases.

The ideal candidate will bring strong reconciliation and journal experience, budgeting input, and a solid accounting background, plus knowledge of payroll legislation (LRA, BCEA, COIDA, POPI) and interface projects with other applications.

Qualifications

• Experience with Payspace payroll software and payroll implementation.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws and tax submission.
• Experience with budgeting, journals and reconciliations.
• Experience with interfacing payroll systems to other applications.
• Ability to produce reports in Payspace and MS Office.
• Knowledge of LRA, BCEA, COIDA, POPI and other payroll related acts.

Minimum requirements

• MUST have Payspace payroll system experience and Unique Time and Attendance system experience
• Subject matter expert for payroll, payroll system, payroll taxes and complex payroll processing
• Proven track record and experience in payroll implementation and interfaces to other applications - essential
• Payroll programming (Huge advantage)
• Budget Experience: Compilation and controlling of budgets essential
• Tax submission experience
• Accounting background experience
• Very strong sound reconciliation experience. Ability to perform complex reconciliations and journals
• Advanced MS Word and Excel skills
• Payroll management, including management of capturing, reconciling, control processes
• Input into policies and workflow processes (Medical Aid process, garnishee process, etcetera)
• Knowledge of legislation applicable to payroll
• Report writing skills on Payspace essential
• In-depth knowledge of relevant labour laws i.e. LRA, BCEA, COIDA, OSHA, POPI, INCOME TAX ACT, Wage Determination Act as well as Bargaining Council Agreements and Payroll best practices
