Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Social Impact Program Officer to drive strategic community initiatives with strong self-management and remote collaboration. The role involves identifying, assessing, and managing a portfolio of social impact projects aligned with the foundation's mission, with occasional travel within the Northern Cape for site visits and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in program management or grantmaking, deep knowledge of impact measurement, program design

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in program management, grantmaking or social impact initiatives.
• Strong understanding of social impact principles, program design and evaluation methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and diverse stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with report writing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Development Studies, Sociology or Business Administration.
• Master's degree is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research potential social impact projects and partner organizations aligned with the foundation's priorities.
• Conduct due diligence and feasibility assessments for proposed initiatives.
• Manage a portfolio of grants and projects, ensuring objectives, timelines and budgets are met.
• Develop and implement program monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress and impact.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to partner organizations to enhance capacity and effectiveness.
• Prepare regular reports on program performance, outcomes and lessons learned for senior management.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among grantees and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, NGOs, government agencies and stakeholders in the Northern Cape.
