About the Role

Our client, a leading developer in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to join their expanding remote team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa, focusing on the successful execution of large-scale renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and development through to construction and commissioning. This role requires a robust understanding of project management principles, coupled with expertise in the renewable energy industry. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hydro, from initiation to close-out.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.

Requirements

A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.). Proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale energy infrastructure projects from conception to completion. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks. Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2) and proficiency with relevant software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Environmental Science, or a related technical field. Experience working remotely and managing distributed teams is essential. Must be based in South Africa and able to work remotely, potentially collaborating from areas like Upington.
