The ideal candidate has a Master's in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of renewable energy experience, proficiency in PVSyst/Helioscope/ETAP, and deep knowledge of grid interconnection and power electronics.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
• 7+ years of experience in renewable energy project design and engineering.
• Experience with solar PV, wind turbine electrical systems, BESS, and grid interconnection.
• Proficient with PVSyst, Helioscope, ETAP, and design tools.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, inverters, transformers, and protection schemes.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar farms and wind energy facilities.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications for power conversion and grid connection systems.
• Perform system modeling, simulations, and feasibility studies to optimize energy yield and ensure grid compliance.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers remotely.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success from inception to commissioning.

About the Role

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to impactful projects across South Africa and beyond, from your home office.
