Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead end-to-end solar, wind, and other renewable initiatives from inception to commissioning. You will operate in a remote setup, coordinating diverse teams across locations within South Africa and beyond.

The role requires 6+ years’ experience in project management, a degree in engineering or related field, and strong familiarity with MS Project, Primavera P6, and Asana. PMP certification is highly desirable.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding leader in the renewable energy sector, is actively seeking an experienced and results-oriented Remote Renewable Energy Project Manager to join their fully remote workforce. This is a unique opportunity to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of diverse renewable energy projects, from inception through to commissioning, all while working from the comfort of your own home. You will be instrumental in driving the successful execution of solar, wind, and other sustainable energy initiatives across various geographical locations, with a particular focus on projects within South Africa. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of renewable energy projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Lead and motivate geographically dispersed project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Ensure the quality and technical integrity of all project deliverables.
• Manage contract negotiations and administration.
• Champion the adoption of best practices in project management and renewable energy deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind).
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects from initiation to completion, delivered on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Asana) and methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, adaptable to a remote working environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate regulatory landscapes.
• Proficiency in risk management and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with virtual collaboration tools and remote team management.
