Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to support operations remotely across South Africa. You will lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/What-If), develop and manage the PSM system, and drive incident investigations and training to uphold process safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with 8+ years in process safety within oil and gas, familiar with API, NFPA, OSHA, and risk assessment methods. Strong leadership and remote collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of process safety engineering experience in oil and gas.
• Knowledge of PSM, hazard identification, and risk assessment methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead PHAs such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and manage the Process Safety Management (PSM) system.
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Review designs to ensure process safety compliance.
• Develop and deliver process safety training.
• Maintain process safety metrics and drive continuous improvement.
