Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to support remote operations across locations including Durban. The role focuses on advancing process safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining safety documentation to uphold high safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of process safety experience in energy or oil and gas, and is proficient in PSM elements, HAZOP, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 6+ years of process safety experience in energy/oil and gas sectors preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PSM elements and incident investigation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain process safety management programs.
• Conduct HIRA, including HAZOP and LOPA studies.
• Investigate process safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Develop and deliver safety training for staff and management.
• Maintain safety documentation (PSMs, P&IDs, PFDs).
