Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Process Design Engineer to lead PFDs, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances for global chemical and petrochemical projects from a home office in South Africa. This role emphasizes independent work and high-quality deliverables.

You will collaborate with international teams, adhere to global standards, and use Aspen Plus/HYSYS and CAD tools to optimize designs while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on process design experience, EPC or consultancy preferred.
• Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS and P&ID CAD tools.
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of PFDs and P&IDs for chemical processes.
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations.
• Specify process equipment and select reactors, distillation columns, pumps.
• Utilize process simulators for design optimization.
• Prepare operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with remote project teams and clients.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards.
• Contribute to design reviews and HAZOP studies.
• Create equipment datasheets and specifications.
