Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Design Engineer for a fully remote position based in South Africa. You will design and optimize chemical processes, develop P&IDs and PFDs, and ensure safety and environmental compliance while working with a global virtual team.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in process design, strong simulation and equipment specification skills, and a passion for innovation in sustainable chemical processing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of experience in process design.
Proficiency in process simulation and P&ID development.

Responsibilities

Design and develop chemical processes from concept to detailed engineering using simulation tools.
Create and maintain P&IDs, PFDs and equipment datasheets.
Conduct hazard analyses (HAZOP) and risk assessments.
Specify major process equipment and optimize existing processes for yield and energy efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual setting.
Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and start-up.
Stay updated on new technologies and best practices.
