Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. The candidate will design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex chemical processes, collaborating with R&D, production, and quality assurance to drive continuous improvement and implement new process technologies.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in chemical process engineering, strong skills in Aspen HYSYS/ChemCAD, and a solid grasp of safety and environmental regulations.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Strong proficiency in process design software (Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) and data analysis.
• Experience with process scale-up and troubleshooting complex chemical operations.
• Excellent understanding of safety protocols (HAZOP) and environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SPC and quality management systems.
• Authorized to work remotely from South Africa.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct process simulations and feasibility studies for new product introductions and modifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process-related issues in existing operations.
• Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality.
• Collaborate with R&D on process scale-up from laboratory to pilot and full production.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and SOPs.
• Lead process improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and operations personnel.
• Manage process design projects from conception through to implementation and validation.
