Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer for a fully remote role, supporting a globally distributed engineering team. You will design, simulate, and validate high-performance power converters for EVs, renewables, and industrial power systems from a home office.

You will lead circuit design, device selection, and control firmware development, while collaborating with remote teams and maintaining documentation for manufacturing and testing.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in high-power converter design.
• Experience with LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, and PLECS.
• Deep knowledge of MOSFETs, IGBTs, GaN and SiC for power converters.
• Proven ability to design magnetics (inductors and transformers) for power converters.
• Strong understanding of control theory in power electronics.
• Experience with PCB layout for high-frequency power applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.
• Experience with laboratory equipment for power converter testing and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-power power electronic converters (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC) for EVs, renewables, and industrial power systems.
• Perform detailed circuit simulations using LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, and PLECS.
• Select semiconductor devices and magnetic materials to optimize performance and reliability.
• Develop control algorithms and firmware for power converters.
• Create schematics, layout guidelines, and bills of materials for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with remote hardware, software, and firmware engineers for integration.
• Conduct design reviews and validate prototypes; troubleshoot issues.
• Stay current with advancements in power electronics technologies.
