Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Power Electronics Engineer for a fully remote role. You will drive design and development of high-performance power electronic converters and systems, leading a team of engineers in a remote-first setup.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in power electronics, strong digital control expertise, and a proven track record leading R&D projects. EV/storage experience is highly desirable and benefits include equity and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in Electrical Engineering with Power Electronics specialization.
• 10+ years in power electronics design and development; 4+ years in leadership.
• Experience with converter topologies, magnetic design and thermal management.
• Expertise in digital control of power converters; DSPs or FPGAs experience.
• Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice or PLECS.
• Proven leadership of R&D projects and remote-work capability.
• Experience in energy storage or EVs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, design, development, and testing of high-performance power electronic converters.
• Develop and implement advanced digital control algorithms for power electronics.
• Oversee component/material selection for performance, reliability and cost.
• Mentor a team of power electronics engineers and guide project execution.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and system teams for seamless integration.
• Run simulations and analyses to validate designs and predict behavior.
• Develop test plans, oversee prototype testing and validation.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards and safety regulations.
• Contribute to IP through innovation and patent activity.
• Stay current with advances in power electronics and control strategies.
