Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Planning Analyst for a fully remote role. You will develop and optimize long-term and short-term mine plans across open-pit and underground operations, leveraging Deswik, Vulcan, and Surpac to model ore bodies and schedules.

The ideal candidate has a Mining or Geological Engineering background, 8+ years of experience, strong data analytics (Excel, Python, Tableau), and proven ability to collaborate with geologists, engineers and operations managers in a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering
• Master's degree is a plus
• Minimum 8 years' experience in mine planning and analysis
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac or similar
• Strong knowledge of geological modeling, resource estimation and reserves
• Independent, remote-ready with strong communication
• Proficiency in Excel, Python, Tableau
• Familiarity with open-pit and underground mining methods

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-term and short-term mine plans aligned with targets and constraints
• Create 3D orebody models and optimize layouts using planning software
• Conduct feasibility studies, economic evaluations and sensitivity analyses
• Integrate geological, geotechnical and operational data into robust plans
• Identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency gains
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers and operations managers remotely
• Prepare reports, presentations and visualizations for senior management
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in planning
• Provide remote mentorship to junior analysts
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations and safety in planning
