Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Planning Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will develop short-term and long-term mine plans, optimizing resource extraction while ensuring safety and sustainability.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 years' experience in mine planning and design, proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan or Minesight, and strong communication skills to liaise with site operations and management. Remote work with flexible hours is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan or Minesight and other planning software.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and sequencing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed short-term and long-term mine plans and schedules.
• Optimize mine designs for safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Use Deswik/Vulcan/Minesight for design and simulation.
• Conduct economic evaluations of mining scenarios.
• Collaborate with site operations and management to ensure feasibility.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on mine plans.
