Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Chief Mine Planner to develop long-term strategic mine plans from a remote location. You will guide cross-functional teams across time zones on mine design, scheduling, and optimization for major global projects.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in mine planning, expert use of Deswik, Vulcan, and Datamine, and a strong background in feasibility studies and project finance. This is a remote-first, executive role with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in mine planning and design, with focus on strategic, long-term planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-term strategic mine plans, including production schedules and life-of-mine strategies.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in conceptual, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies.
• Use advanced mine planning software to model and optimize layouts, sequencing, and infrastructure.
• Conduct economic evaluations and sensitivity analyses for different mining scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and geologists.
