Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join a fully remote team. You will develop and optimize short- and long-term production plans, evaluate feasibility and economics for new projects, and design layouts for open-pit or underground mines.

The role requires deep knowledge of mining methods, geostatistics, and software proficiency. Collaborate with global exploration and operations teams, analyze constraints, and drive cost-effective, safe mining strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).
• Strong understanding of mining methods, economics, and equipment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
• Experience with geostatistical analysis and resource modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize short-term and long-term mine production plans using mine planning software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects and expansions.
• Design open-pit or underground mine layouts, considering geological, geotechnical, and environmental factors.
• Perform equipment selection and utilization analysis to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with exploration and operations teams to integrate geological data and operational feedback into planning processes.
• Monitor mine performance against plan, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
