Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Mine Planning Engineer to join their forward-thinking team from a home-based setup. You will develop and optimize mine plans, layouts and production schedules for various commodities, using Deswik, Vulcan and MineSight in a flexible, fully remote environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering and at least 6 years' planning experience with open-pit or underground contexts, plus strong analytical and financial modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in mine planning, with open-pit or underground exposure.
• Advanced proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, MineSight, or similar planning software.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities and operational constraints.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update detailed short-term and long-term mine plans based on geological, operational and economic factors.
• Optimize mine layouts, production sequences and equipment utilization for maximum efficiency.
• Perform financial analysis and economic evaluations of mine plans and scenarios.
• Collaborate with geological, survey and operations teams to ensure plan execution.
• Use Deswik, Vulcan, MineSight to generate mine designs and production schedules.
