Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our client, working fully remotely from South Africa. The role focuses on in-depth financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting support, and reporting for senior leadership, with a remote-first, independent work environment and a Kimberley-based operational base.

You will develop models, analyze profitability, monitor metrics, and mentor junior analysts while contributing to financial strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• CMA, CPA, CFA designation or progress towards one is a strong asset.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related role.
• Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and valuation methods.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros) and financial software (e.g., ERP systems, BI tools).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis of business performance, identifying trends and variances.
• Develop and maintain forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning models.
• Prepare regular financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.
• Support the annual budgeting process by collaborating with various departments.
• Analyze profitability and cost drivers to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in evaluating the financial feasibility of new projects and investments.
• Monitor key financial metrics and provide timely insights to management.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as requested by stakeholders.
• Mentor junior financial analysts in best practices and analytical techniques.
