Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer to join our Oil & Gas operations in a fully remote capacity. Based out of Gauteng, you will design, implement, and manage drilling fluid programs across international projects from your home office.

You will lead fluid system development, run tests, optimize formulations, and collaborate with global teams using advanced remote tools. A strong track record in drilling fluids, chemistry, and wellbore stability is required for this remote

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years hands-on drilling fluids engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proven track record managing complex drilling fluid programs, preferably international.

Responsibilities

• Develop, supervise, and manage drilling fluid systems globally.
• Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid issues.
• Conduct fluid property testing and analysis per project specs and standards.
• Optimize drilling fluid formulations to enhance performance and reduce NPT.
• Monitor fluid inventory and manage procurement of chemicals and materials.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers, geologists, and operations via remote platforms.
• Prepare drilling fluid reports, cost analyses, and performance reviews.
• Ensure adherence to HSE regulations related to drilling fluid operations.
• Stay updated on advancements in drilling fluid technology and best practices.
• Conduct remote training sessions for field personnel.
