Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Drilling Fluids Engineer for a fully remote role in the global Oil & Gas sector. You will design, test, and optimize drilling fluid programs while coordinating with rig sites and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a relevant field and at least six years of hands-on mud engineering experience, with expertise in water-, oil-, and synthetic-based muds, and strong data-analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on drilling fluids or mud engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluid systems (water-based, oil-based, and synthetic muds); API testing.
• Experience with remote operations and effective communication with field teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement drilling fluid programs for specific well objectives.
• Supervise drilling fluids performance at the rig site.
• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of drilling fluid samples.
• Troubleshoot issues like stuck pipe and lost circulation.
• Provide technical recommendations for additives and system adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare reports on fluid performance, inventory and costs.
• Communicate with drilling engineers, rig crews, and management.
• Assist in development of new drilling fluid technologies.
