Placements24 is seeking a Senior Computational Biologist to join a fully remote research team. You will analyze large-scale omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics), develop computational methods and statistical models, and collaborate with biologists and clinicians to drive discovery.

The role requires a PhD with at least 5 years post-PhD experience, proficiency in Python or R, experience with cloud environments and Git, and strong communication for remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative biology field.
• At least 5 years post-PhD experience in computational biology or bioinformatics.
• Proficiency in Python or R with relevant libraries.
• Experience analyzing genomic and/or transcriptomic data.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and version control (Git).
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement computational pipelines for high-throughput data (NGS, microarrays, proteomics).
• Develop statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns and biomarkers.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to define research questions and interpret results.
• Develop visualization tools to communicate complex data and findings.
• Contribute to experimental design with computational input.
• Stay updated on advances in computational biology and bioinformatics.
