Placements24 is seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join its fully remote research team. You will analyze large-scale datasets in genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, and develop novel computational methods to enable discovery.

The role requires a Ph.D. or Master’s in a relevant field, 5+ years in bioinformatics, proficiency in Python or R, and experience with cloud platforms and Git. Collaboration with bench scientists is essential.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics or computational biology.
• Proficiency in Python or R and bioinformatics libraries.
• Strong statistics and ML fundamentals; cloud experience (AWS, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
• Develop and optimize computational pipelines for sequencing data (RNA-Seq, WGS, ChIP-Seq).
• Collaborate with bench scientists to interpret results and guide research directions.
• Maintain scalable codebases and data management systems.
• Contribute to publications, presentations, and internal reports.
