Placements24 is seeking a Senior Computational Biologist to join a fully remote research team. You will analyze complex genomic and transcriptomic data, develop and implement advanced algorithms, and contribute to significant discoveries in a collaborative, remote-first environment.

The role focuses on building pipelines, predictive models, and staying at the forefront of bioinformatics innovations, enabling high-impact biological research projects.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics research.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and/or Perl.
• Extensive experience with various bioinformatics tools and databases.
• Experience analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply computational methods for analyzing genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
• Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret data and formulate hypotheses.
• Develop predictive models and statistical analyses to extract biological insights.
• Contribute to the design of high-throughput experiments with computational guidance.
