Placements24 is seeking a Senior Computational Biologist for a fully remote, cutting-edge research team. The role drives discovery through large-scale omics analyses and leads advanced bioinformatics projects.

You will develop tools, mentor junior scientists, and collaborate with biologists and data scientists, contributing to publications and grant proposals in a remote-first environment. This position requires a PhD, at least five years of experience, and strong Python/R skills with sequencing

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics with strong publication record.
• Proficiency in Python and R; experience with bioinformatics libraries.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and application of computational methods for genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
• Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to define questions and provide data-driven insights.
• Develop and maintain custom scripts and software tools.
• Mentor junior computational biologists and contribute to team strategy.
• Present findings to scientific audiences and contribute to publications and grant proposals.
