Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Research Scientist in computational biology. You will analyze complex biological data, build scalable pipelines, and apply ML methods to genomics and related fields.

The role requires a PhD and at least five years of experience, with strong programming skills in Python or R and experience with cloud platforms. You will collaborate in a distributed team, delivering actionable insights and advancing biological research.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, CS, statistics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in computational biology or related field with strong data analysis track record.
• Proficiency in Python or R and scientific libraries.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling and ML algorithms.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and Docker is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement computational pipelines for large-scale biological data including NGS data.
• Develop and apply statistical and ML models to identify patterns and generate hypotheses.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and other computational scientists to interpret results.
• Visualize and communicate data findings through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Contribute to development of novel computational methods and tools.
• Stay updated with advancements in computational biology and bioinformatics.
