Placements24 is seeking a Senior Community Support Specialist to develop and oversee vital outreach programs for vulnerable individuals and families. This fully remote, permanent role enables you to impact communities in the Johannesburg region and beyond through proactive collaboration with partners and dedicated service delivery.

You will conduct needs assessments, provide direct client support, supervise junior staff, maintain confidential records, and drive program improvements based on data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in community development or social services.
• Proven experience in program management and development.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
• Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Fluency in English; other local languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage community outreach programs identifying and supporting individuals and families in need.
• Conduct needs assessments to understand challenges faced by community members.
• Provide direct support and guide clients to relevant resources and services.
• Collaborate with local government agencies, NGOs, and stakeholders to improve service delivery.
• Maintain confidential client records per organizational policies.
• Organize and facilitate community workshops and informational sessions.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing training and feedback.
• Monitor program effectiveness and implement data-driven improvements.
• Represent the organization at events and meetings.
• Stay updated on social services legislation and best practices.
