Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Community Support Coordinator for a fully remote role serving communities across South Africa. You will lead program development, oversee social support services, and collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, and a remote team to deliver impactful outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in community development or social work, with at least 2 years in supervision, and strong project management, communication, and analytical skills. Travel may be occasional.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years in community development, social work or similar.
• At least 2 years in supervisory role.
• Experience in program management and development in non-profit or social care.
• Strong understanding of South Africa’s social issues and community dynamics.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage community outreach strategies to engage diverse populations.
• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of essential social support services.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, NGOs, and government agencies.
• Supervise a team of community support workers and provide mentorship.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop tailored support plans.
• Monitor program outcomes and report findings with improvement recommendations.
• Manage program budgets and resources.
• Organize community workshops, trainings and support groups.
• Advocate for community rights and needs while ensuring policy compliance.
