Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Bioinformatician to join a remotely operating research team. The role focuses on analyzing genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data, building robust pipelines, and applying statistics and ML to drive discoveries from your own location.

You will collaborate with scientists across disciplines, develop visualization algorithms, and contribute to project documentation while staying current with evolving bioinformatics methods.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional bioinformatics experience.
• Strong programming in Python, R, Perl or Java.
• Extensive experience with common bioinformatics tools, databases and algorithms.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and ML techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and remote collaboration communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust bioinformatics pipelines for analyzing large-scale biological data.
• Perform complex statistical analyses and data mining on genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret results and guide research strategies.
• Develop and implement algorithms for data visualization and interpretation.
• Contribute to the documentation and presentation of findings to scientific and technical teams.
