Placements24 seeks a Senior Bioinformatician to lead data analysis within a fully remote research division. You will drive insights from large genomic datasets and develop advanced computational methods, collaborating with a dispersed team of scientists and engineers.

The role requires a Ph.D. or Master’s in a quantitative field, 5+ years in bioinformatics, and expertise in Python/R/Perl plus cloud and HPC experience.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in bioinformatics analysis in academia or industry.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Perl and relevant bioinformatics libraries/tools.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, ML, and biological data types.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and HPC environments.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage data, and communicate complex concepts remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
• Develop and apply cutting-edge statistical and ML algorithms to extract insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define analytical strategies and interpret results.
• Mentor junior bioinformaticians and contribute to team growth.
