Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an ambitious Renewable Energy Project Developer to join its fully remote team in South Africa. You will identify, evaluate, and secure new project opportunities across the country, conduct site analysis, secure permits, and push projects from inception to financial close.

The role requires a strong track record in project development, PPAs, stakeholder engagement, and robust financial modeling, with at least six years of experience and a relevant degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's advantageous.
• Minimum 6 years in renewable energy project development with successful closes.
• In-depth knowledge of SA regulatory frameworks and technologies.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation and PPA structuring.
• Strong financial acumen and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess renewable energy sites considering resources and grid feasibility.
• Manage land acquisition, leases, permits and approvals.
• Develop and negotiate PPAs and contracts with off-takers.
• Build relationships with landowners, officials, and stakeholders.
• Conduct financial modeling to support viability and financing.
• Coordinate with EPC teams during early development stages.
