Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Solar PV Project Developer to join a fully remote team. The role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and securing new solar PV projects in the Western Cape and beyond, including site assessment, land rights, and permitting.

You will collaborate with engineering, finance, and legal teams, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to sustainability goals by expanding the solar portfolio from a remote location.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of renewable energy project development experience, with a focus on solar PV.
• Proven track record of identifying and advancing development-stage projects.
• Knowledge of solar technology, site assessment, permitting, and PPAs.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work autonomously in a fully remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites for solar PV development.
• Conduct preliminary project designs and yield assessments.
• Lead negotiations for land leases, option agreements, and PPAs.
• Initiate and manage early-stage permitting and environmental reviews.
• Develop relationships with landowners, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate remotely with engineering, finance, and legal teams to move projects forward.
