Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Renewable Energy Project Developer to join a fully remote team. You will identify, evaluate, and secure solar, wind, and storage opportunities across South Africa, building a strong project pipeline from inception to financial close.

With 5+ years in project development, you will analyze markets, engage stakeholders, and secure PPAs, while collaborating with engineering, legal, and finance teams to deliver bankable opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in project development, with renewable energy focus (solar/wind/battery storage).
• Proven track record securing renewable energy projects and strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess sites for renewable energy projects, evaluating feasibility and viability.
• Conduct market research to identify opportunities and trends in renewables.
• Develop relationships with landowners, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate land leases, PPAs, and project agreements.
• Prepare project proposals, financial models, and investment cases for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering, legal, and finance teams throughout development.
