Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a driven Renewable Energy Project Developer to identify, evaluate, and secure new projects in the Eastern Cape, especially East London, and surrounding regions.

You will manage the development pipeline, negotiate contracts like PPAs, coordinate with EPC teams, and build stakeholder relationships with authorities, communities, and investors to advance projects from prospecting to financial close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development.
• Proven track record in securing and developing projects through financial close.
• Strong financial analysis, contract negotiation and business development skills.
• Excellent understanding of renewable energy technologies and the South African energy market.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential sites for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.).
• Conduct financial modeling and economic feasibility studies for new projects.
• Negotiate and secure land leases, PPAs, and other key contracts.
• Manage stakeholder relations with government authorities, communities, and investors.
• Coordinate with EPC teams throughout the development phase.
