Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Purchasing Specialist to join the procurement team from anywhere in South Africa. You will manage day-to-day purchasing activities, sourcing materials and services while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to enable seamless transactions in a fully remote setup. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
Proficiency in using purchasing software and ERP systems.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

Source and procure goods and services in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and reliability standards.
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers for both routine and ad-hoc purchases.
Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and conduct regular supplier performance reviews.
Communicate effectively with internal departments to understand and fulfill their material needs.
