Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to support our procurement team in Upington. You will process purchase orders, liaise with suppliers, and maintain procurement records to ensure supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in purchasing, administrative, or supply chain support roles.
• Familiarity with purchasing procedures and terminology.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in the system.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, delivery dates, and pricing.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of purchasing transactions.
• Assist in gathering quotes and bids for goods and services.
• Coordinate with receiving and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor order statuses and follow up on outstanding deliveries.
