Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Chemical Process Safety Engineer for a fully remote role. You will lead PHAs, develop PSM systems, and investigate incidents across global sites.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in process safety within chemical/petrochemical industries, with CSP certification being a plus. Strong communication and independent-working capabilities are essential for success in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of process safety engineering experience in chemical/petrochemical industry.
• PHA methodologies (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA) and PSM experience.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment, hazards, and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to lead remote safety initiatives and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead PHAs (HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA) studies.
• Develop and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCAs).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM and Seveso Directive.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to personnel.
• Review engineering designs for safety implications.
• Develop and monitor safety metrics and KPIs.
• Conduct remote safety audits of facilities.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and EHS teams.
