Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Chemical Process Safety Engineer to join a globally distributed team in a fully remote role. You will ensure the highest standards of process safety, identify hazards, and develop robust mitigation strategies across operations.

The role requires deep knowledge of chemical process hazards, regulatory requirements, and a proven track record in PHAs, PSM, and SIS. You will also develop safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture within the

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years of process safety experience in chemical/petrochemical environments.
Knowledge of PSM principles (e.g., OSHA PSM).
Experience conducting PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/What-If).
Familiarity with SIS and risk assessment methodologies.
Excellent analytical and communication skills for a remote role.

Responsibilities

Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) including HAZOP/LOPA/What-If.
Develop and implement site-specific Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
Investigate process safety incidents and near misses; identify root causes and actions.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Provide guidance on safe design and operation of chemical processes/equipment.
Deliver safety training to engineering and operations staff.
