Placements24 seeks a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join a globally distributed team operating on a fully remote basis. The role focuses on maintaining high safety standards across processes, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture from a home office.

You will lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/What-If), develop PSM programs, investigate incidents, ensure regulatory compliance, and design safety systems while providing training to engineers and operations personnel across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in chemical/ mechanical engineering or related safety discipline.
• 6+ years of process safety engineering experience in chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Knowledge of PSM elements and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with safety software and risk modeling tools.
• Understanding of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulations.
• Strong remote communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PHAs including HAZOP, LOPA, What-If.
• Develop and implement PSM programs and procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Design and implement safety systems (e.g., emergency shutdown systems and relief devices).
• Provide technical safety training to engineers and staff.
