Job summary

Valenture Institute is seeking a Learning Designer to design, develop and quality assure secondary school online course content and activities aligned to NSC and SACAI standards. You will deliver high-quality materials within set timelines and uphold learning design standards.

You will work remotely with cross-functional teams, utilizing the LMS and development tools to craft engaging digital content and assessments, while collaborating on iterative improvements.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification with subject specialization and CAPS knowledge are required.
• Experience in learning design, curriculum development or digital content is advantageous.
• Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices is advantageous.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills are important.
• Comfort with remote work and independent work style.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Use curriculum requirements to ensure course content aligns to NSC and SACAI standards.
• Plan and analyze subject areas to propose online design strategies.
• Use Valenture’s LMS to inform design decisions for online learning.
• Design formative learning, practice and mastery activities for progress.
• Develop curriculum-aligned summative assessments with marking guidelines.
• Develop and adapt material into engaging online learning experiences using development tools.
• Research reference materials to support course development.
• Collaborate with Product, Learning Technology and production teams.
• Create content from scratch into richly augmented online formats.
• Brief graphics and track external assets usage.
• Follow learning design principles, templates and quality standards.
• Review own work against requirements and participate in peer QA.
• Provide feedback on Learning Design processes and ways of working.
• Manage development work against timelines and communicate progress.
• Collaborate with Senior Learning Designer and stakeholders.
• Participate in team rhythms and planning.
