Job summary

Valenture Institute is seeking a Learning Designer to create curriculum-aligned secondary school content and online activities for delivery in line with national standards. The role involves designing formative and summative assessments, developing engaging materials, and ensuring quality across courses.

You will collaborate with Product, Learning Technology and production teams while working remotely within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant teaching qualification, with appropriate subject specialisation for the subject being developed.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the CAPS curriculum and experience teaching or developing learning material in the relevant subject and phase.
• Experience in learning design, curriculum development or the development of high-quality digital learning content is advantageous.
• Experience in the EdTech field is advantageous
• Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices will be advantageous
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and build collaborative work relationships
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Must be comfortable working remotely and independently
• Ability to learn quickly and to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritise work appropriately
• Stable internet connection required

Responsibilities

• Design curriculum-aligned learning content and formative assessments for online delivery.
• Develop engaging online learning experiences and supporting media in collaboration with production teams.
• Review and quality assure work against curriculum and design standards; participate in peer reviews.
• Deliver development work within agreed timelines and communicate progress and risks.
