Placements24 is seeking a skilled Network Security Analyst to join its cybersecurity team in Randburg. The role focuses on protecting the company’s network infrastructure and data, monitoring security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents with proactive measures.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3–5 years of experience, and strong knowledge of SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in network security, incident response, or vulnerability management.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, common attack vectors, and security best practices.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic for security breaches, suspicious activities, and policy violations using SIEM tools.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing forensic analysis and containment/eradication strategies.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
• Implement and manage security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Provide security awareness training to employees and maintain threat intelligence.
