Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Information Security Analyst to join our security team in Nelspruit. You will monitor security systems, analyze incidents, and coordinate containment and remediation with on-site IT to protect critical data.

The role requires 1–3 years in information security, familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection, plus strong teamwork and communication for an on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in information security or IT operations with a security focus.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common cybersecurity threats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills for an on-site environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and alerts for potential threats and unauthorized access.
• Investigate and analyze security incidents, determine scope and impact, and initiate response actions.
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation.
• Assist in development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
• Maintain documentation related to security incidents and configurations.
• Support security awareness training and guidance to end-users.
