Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a sharp Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dedicated security team in Centurion for an on-site role. You will monitor network traffic and security logs, detect threats, and respond to incidents to protect our organization and clients, using a methodical, detail-oriented approach to safeguard data and systems.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or IT, 2–3 years of relevant experience, and hands-on familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or IT, or related field.
• 2–3 years in cybersecurity or information security.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR tools.
• Understanding of networking protocols, Windows/Linux and common attack vectors.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activities and potential breaches.
• Investigate security alerts and perform root cause analysis of incidents.
• Implement and manage security controls and technologies, including firewalls and IDS/IPS.
• Develop and maintain documentation for security procedures and incident response plans.
• Collaborate with IT operations to remediate security vulnerabilities and ensure system integrity.
• Contribute to security awareness training and provide guidance to end-users.
