Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Menu Development Chef to join a virtual culinary team and shape diverse catering menus from anywhere in the world. You will design scalable, cost-effective recipes for corporate events, private parties, and meal plans, with attention to flavor, presentation, and execution.

You will document recipes clearly for remote teams, explore trends, adapt to dietary needs, and ensure high visual appeal.

Qualifications

• A professional culinary qualification or equivalent extensive experience in menu development.
• Proven track record in menu creation and recipe development, ideally within a catering or high-volume food service environment.
• Excellent written communication skills for clear and concise recipe documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and appealing menus for various catering formats (e.g., corporate events, private parties, meal plans).
• Create detailed recipes, including ingredient lists, precise measurements, preparation instructions, and plating guidelines.
• Research and identify emerging food trends, ingredients, and culinary techniques to inspire new menu items.
• Adapt existing menus based on client feedback, dietary restrictions (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, allergies), and seasonal availability.
• Ensure all developed recipes are cost-effective and scalable for large-volume production.
• Collaborate virtually with the operations and marketing teams to align menu development with business goals.
• Document and maintain a comprehensive database of recipes and menu concepts.
• Conduct virtual taste-testing sessions or provide detailed guidance for in-person evaluations.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the company's culinary offerings.
• Stay connected with the wider culinary community and maintain a network of food industry contacts.
