Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Chemical Engineer for a fully remote role. You will drive process optimization across chemical plants, lead a global remote team, and use data analytics to identify bottlenecks and scale up new technologies.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in process engineering, including leadership. Strong SAFETY knowledge (HAZOP/LOPA) and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical process engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Demonstrated expertise in process modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
• Proven track record of implementing process optimization projects with cost savings or efficiency gains.
• Strong knowledge of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer.
• Experience leading safety assessments (HAZOP, LOPA) and risk mitigation.
• Exceptional leadership and remote-team management abilities.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead development and implementation of advanced process optimization strategies across multiple chemical plants.
• Lead and mentor a global team of chemical engineers in a remote work environment.
• Use data analytics and simulation tools to identify bottlenecks and improve processes.
• Design and oversee pilot studies and scale-up activities for new technologies.
• Develop and manage process documentation (P&IDs, PFDs, SOPs) with accuracy.
• Conduct PHAs and implement risk mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with operations, R&D, and business development to align improvements with strategic goals.
• Manage budgets and timelines for projects and ensure timely completion.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies and evaluate applicability.
• Facilitate virtual workshops and training sessions for technical teams.
