Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote IT Support & Systems Maintenance Specialist to provide technical assistance and keep IT systems running smoothly. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere while supporting users and departments.

You will troubleshoot Windows/macOS/Linux, manage user accounts, perform maintenance, document solutions, and collaborate with the IT team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in remote IT support, strong communication, and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or systems maintenance, preferably in a remote capacity.
Proficient in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems.
Experience with network protocols and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with cloud-based services and applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
Strong understanding of hardware components and their functions.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a remote environment.
Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, IT Support) are a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide remote technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Perform regular system maintenance, including updates, patches, and performance tuning for servers and workstations.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and applications.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), applications, and network connectivity.
Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware as required.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact users.
Document IT procedures, solutions, and configurations in a knowledge base.
Assist with the onboarding of new employees, ensuring their IT setup is complete and functional.
Respond to IT support requests promptly and professionally, prioritizing urgent issues.
Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and infrastructure improvements.
