Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Systems Administrator to oversee and optimize SA IT infrastructure in a fully remote role. You will manage Windows Server and Linux systems, virtualization, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and disaster recovery while supporting users across the country.

This position emphasizes proactive maintenance, security, and documentation, with strong remote communication and troubleshooting skills to keep systems reliable and compliant.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with significant remote work experience.
• In-depth knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Experience with directory services (Active Directory), network services (DNS, DHCP), and scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Strong IT security, disaster recovery, and documentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration for a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux servers and related applications.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across systems.
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement proactive uptime solutions.
• Implement and maintain security measures, including patch management and backups.
• Provide remote technical support and diagnose/resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations and troubleshooting.
