Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an IT Helpdesk Support specialist to join a fully remote team serving clients across regions from a Polokwane hub. You will be the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and productive end-users.

You will diagnose, resolve incidents via phone, email, and remote tools, install and configure systems, document solutions, and escalate complex issues when needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an IT helpdesk or technical support role.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems (Windows/macOS), and basic networking.
• Proficiency with remote support tools and helpdesk management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and remote tools.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals.
• Log and track all support requests and resolutions in the helpdesk ticketing system.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or specialized support teams.
