Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Product Development Manager to lead the creation and enhancement of an insurance product portfolio. This fully remote role involves ideation through launch, coordinating with actuarial, underwriting, marketing, and legal teams in a virtual setting, with coverage spanning Paarl, Western Cape, ZA and beyond.

You will drive market research, strategy, pricing, and lifecycle management while shaping the future of our insurance solutions for clients in the region

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 6 years in product management or product development within insurance.
• Proven track record of launching and managing insurance products.
• Strong understanding of insurance principles, regulations, and market dynamics.
• Excellent strategic thinking, market analysis, and business acumen.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead ideation, design, and development of new insurance products and features.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify unmet needs.
• Define product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market plans.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and legal teams for viability and compliance.
• Develop pricing strategies and business cases for new initiatives.
• Manage the product lifecycle with performance monitoring and improvements.
• Create product documentation, training materials, and marketing collateral.
• Present product proposals to senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and tech impacts.
• Foster innovation and continuous product improvement.
